From October 2017 Oadby & Wigston Borough Council will no longer host applications from anyone without a recognised Local Connection specifically with the Oadby & Wigston area.

If you do not have a local connection with Oadby & Wigston Borough Council you will need to contact a Council with which you do have a connection.

Please note that proof of identity must be submitted with all applications - this may include a passport, drivers licence, birth certificate or EU Identity card (bus passes are not acceptable)

Using this service gives you more choice in deciding where you want to live. Instead of waiting for an offer of accommodation, you can see which properties are becoming available and express an interest in upto 2 properties. Properties are advertised weekly from Thursday through Tuesday inclusive and you will only be able to bid on properties for which you have been assessed as eligible for.

Before using this system you will need to have registered with one of the 7 district councils in Leicestershire, obtained your login number and memorable date.

Households with no local connection to one of the 7 district councils are unable to participate in this scheme.

Not everyone will be successful in getting a council or housing association home. Demand is much greater than the number of vacancies. Check on the results of Recent Lets to find out if you are likely to be successful in the near future.

If you would like help to use this service, please contact the council's Housing Options Team. Click on How to Contact Us on the left or use the Contact Form by clicking above.
